Rua is an interdisciplinary artist from London, experimenting with moving image, painting, mixed media and poetry. Through her work she contemplates spirituality, nature as a mystical force, healing, connection and solitude. She is interested in the relationship between our inner and outer worlds. She is currently undertaking the MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art.

“This is a meditation on a moment, which I repeat everyday. I have a cup of the same tea, in the same seat every morning. But every time the instance, though it consists of the same actions, is coloured and formed by what just happened before, the dream I had, my past, how I feel, my energy, the tone of the weather and the world outside the window. These differences interact to form the perception and story I bring each time, they load every detail in the room; inanimate objects such as a cup of tea, hold unexpected meanings. All playing out in the transitory state of the mind and body waking, when logic is still in the back seat. This fragment of documentation on tissue reveals the invisible layers of this subjective experience. Both intimate and widely familiar. The repeated moment is eternally different, eternally old and eternally new.”
